ACTIVITIES
At WePlant, our activities are designed to engage the community, educate participants and have a tangible impact on our urban environment. Here a look at what we do:
Month 1: We start by bringing everyone together to outline our project goals, discuss our management and preparation plan, and develop our logo and website. Participants will also discuss communication strategies, leadership roles and criteria for upcoming Roundtable discussions.
Month 2: 1st Webinar – Learning about the Environment and Climate Change.In our first webinar, we delve into the current state of urban environments, the impact of climate change and the importance of tree planting. Participants willresearch and present case studies of successful tree planting initiatives.
Month 3: Online discussion. We are continuing our discussions online to review the results of our kick-off meeting and webinar. This includes finalizing our logo, website and tree planting best practices.
Month 4: 1st Round Table – Thessaloniki. Our first Round Table event will feature presentations on tree planting cases and the impact of trees in urban environments. Participants will receive certificates for their participation.
Month 5: 2nd Webinar. We will review the results of the Round Table and discuss proposals for tree planting. Each participant will contribute reports and proposals based on their findings.
Month 6: 3rd Webinar – Learning to Plant. This webinar will focus on the technical aspects of tree planting, including proper techniques and preparation. Participants will develop ideas for potential planting sites.
Month 7: Online meeting. We will evaluate and select the best locations for tree planting based on previous discussions and research. This will set the stage for the upcoming planting events.
8th Month: Tree Planting Event – Thessaloniki. The tree planting event will take place over two days. The first day is dedicated to the preparation of the materials and the second day involves the planting of trees in selected locations.
Month 9: Online assessment meeting. We will assess the success of our tree planting activities, discuss what went well and identify areas for improvement.Feedback will be used to improve future projects.
Month 10: 4th Webinar – How to save our results.
In this session, we will learn about tree care and maintenance. Participants will create content to share on our website, providing guidance on how to protect and preserve planted trees.
Month 11: Report the results. Participants will compile and review the final results of the project. We will prepare a comprehensive report to be submitted to the EU committee and shared on our website.
Month 12: Final Workshop. Our final workshop will present the results of the project and discuss the importance of youth involvement in environmental protection. We will explore ways to further educate and engage young people in sustainable practices.
